Board approves $675,000 change order to add roof replacement to Babcock window project

Board members approved a contract amendment to replace windows at the Babcock building and to add a roof replacement to the same project.

Peter and facilities staff explained that selecting a different window option produced savings that could be applied to include a full replacement of the Babcock roof for the affected section. Staff described the roof work as a full replacement of one section, not a districtwide roofing program, and said Evergreen Roofing is expected to do the work this summer. The funding was described as coming from the current year's general fund surplus.

Board members asked about warranty terms; staff said a 20-year warranty would be included and sample warranty language was placed in the board drive for review. The motion to approve the change order carried by voice vote.
