The Albany County School District #1 board voted to accept an offer of $926,000 from Wasatch Taylor Made Builders LLC for the Laramie Athletic Field property.
Doctor Goldhart introduced the offer and trustees debated timing and logistics. A trustee asked whether the buyer would be open to a later closing so the district could continue using the facilities through June 2027; staff said closing could be "on or before March 1, 2027" but noted the property is not legally subdivided and would require an administrative plat or full subdivision with the city, a process that could take additional time.
Multiple amendments were raised on the board floor. One trustee proposed a counteroffer of $1,151,000; another proposed $950,000 (the appraised price). Both amendments failed on roll call. After discussion about subdivision, infrastructure and the work already completed by consultants, the board voted to accept the $926,000 offer.
Trustees also discussed replacement options for teams and community uses displaced by the sale, and staff said the district would prioritize its own teams for remaining facilities and explore track upgrades funded by major maintenance funds as part of future planning.
The board approved the sale by roll call.
