Jenna provided the director's report, saying the library is roughly 25% expended for the year and that April circulation totaled 22,229 items (12,351 physical items and 8,806 electronic items). She reported 5,730 visits at the main library in April, 192 new library cards at the main site, and 642 physical circulations at the satellite location with roughly 360 visits there.
Jenna said the library hired a youth librarian who starts in June and that summer interns will begin onboarding in May. She said senior outreach has been expanded to include two staff at each site and that technology tutoring has returned. The Library on Wheels will visit nine parks and several weekly youth programs this summer; the summer reading challenge opens June 1 via the Beanstack app and the annual summer kickoff party is scheduled for May 28 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Board members thanked Jenna for the information; no additional board action was taken on the director's report during the meeting.
