Department, volunteers deliver Thanksgiving meals to families in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD

A department and community volunteers delivered complete Thanksgiving meal boxes to families across the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, organizers said.

Organizers said the effort is part of a district outreach program that pairs department staff and community volunteers to distribute holiday meals to households in need. "It's a good opportunity to be able to sit there and give back to the community," a department officer said, describing the deliveries as part of the department's community outreach.

Volunteers and staff described the work as an opportunity to pause regular duties and engage directly with residents. "I enjoy delivering it to the families and then for them to see us bring the boxes," a department staff member said, adding that the activity felt like "community policing" in practice. A recipient receiving a meal box said, "We appreciate that," and expressed gratitude for the support.

Organizers publicly thanked a roster of sponsors and donors that made the distribution possible, listing HB, Saiwoods Athletic Boosters, Blaine Middle School and A Robinson Middle School among contributors. They also said Mex Taco House donated 10 turkeys to the effort.

Event organizers closed by thanking Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and community volunteers for their support; no formal vote or policy action was taken at the event.
