The Cuyahoga Falls City School District board approved an administrative contract Wednesday to hire Elizabeth (Liz) Collins as principal of Cuyahoga Falls Middle School.
Superintendent Doctor Selickow described a rigorous two-round search process that included interviews and a building visit. Collins holds education degrees from Kent State University (bachelor of science in education and a master of arts in educational leadership) and brings six years of administrative experience as an assistant principal in Akron Public Schools plus instructional-coach experience.
Board members voted to allow Collins up to 10 days prior to her contract start as a consultant so she can familiarize herself with the school’s systems and begin preparations for next year. Collins briefly addressed the board, thanked the superintendent and trustees, and said she is excited to serve students and staff.
Next steps: the contract was approved by vote and the district will begin the transition process for middle school leadership ahead of the upcoming school year.
