The Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved several routine items on its regular agenda, voting to appoint Jason Nunley to the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging advisory board and to update county pay policy language necessary to comply with a Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) indigent defense grant.
Carrie (speaker 7) presented the appointment request for Jason Nunley to serve a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2028; the board moved, seconded and approved the appointment. Later, Carrie and Tiffany Bloyer, the county HR director, explained that the pay-policy changes add language required by the PCCD grant so the county can provide stipends to public defenders and staff while preserving standard budget and salary-board approvals. Commissioners approved the update after staff described the changes and internal review.
The board also adopted proclamations recognizing Emergency Medical Services Week (designated May 17–2026) and Memorial Day (May 25, 2026). Doug Bittner and other EMS representatives described local EMS events and read lists of personnel being honored; the board approved the EMS Week proclamation and posed for photographs. Commissioners voted to adopt the Memorial Day proclamation as read by the chair.
All of the listed motions passed by voice vote during the meeting; no recorded roll-call votes were entered in the transcript.
