The Lancaster City Planning Commission on Jan. 9 approved an Open Space Fee submission for a 12-unit project by North Memorial LLC at 226, 230 and 234 Whittier Drive.
Chasilyn Carter presented case 2025.002 on behalf of the petitioner and advised the developers would meet Public Site Standards and Open Space requirements “either with land dedication of 0.15 acres or payment of $5,859.00 in lieu of land dedication at the discretion of the Parks Board.” Carter also noted the Parks Board approved the matter on Jan. 8, 2025. Jimmy Johnson of North Memorial LLC was present for the hearing.
Member Jan Coccia moved to approve the Open Space Fee submission; member Rick Wilkins seconded. The commission recorded a unanimous vote to approve and carried the motion. With no proponents or opponents speaking, Service-Safety Director Carrie Woody concluded the item and the commission adjourned at 9:36 a.m.
The approval gives the developer the option identified by the Parks Board to fulfill open-space obligations through land dedication or payment in lieu; the transcript does not specify which option the developer ultimately selected.
