The Trophy Club Town Council on May 13 approved an ordinance implementing the contractually required annual cost adjustment for the town’s trash and recycling franchise vendor, Community Waste Disposal (CWD).
Assistant Town Manager Tamara Smith told the council the change is triggered by the Dallas–Fort Worth consumer price index and reflects a 3% increase for the June 1, 2026–May 31, 2027 rate year. Smith said the new residential rate for customers with 18‑gallon bins will be $26.48 per month; customers with 95‑gallon carts will pay $29.99 per month. Commercial rates were adjusted similarly, and CWD added a new six‑times‑a‑week front‑load container service option to the fee schedule.
Council members asked about usage data for new services; Smith responded that CWD will deliver an annual report to the council at a future meeting with utilization figures and further detail.
A council motion to approve the ordinance was moved and seconded; the motion passed by hand/voice vote. The motion as recorded in the transcript used a transcript typo that read "Town of Truck Club"; the ordinance applies to Trophy Club and the final ordinance language and vote record should be checked against the official minutes for the formal record.
Rates are scheduled to take effect June 1, 2026, and remain in place through May 31, 2027, under the terms of the franchise agreement.
