The Harrison County Commission on May 20 approved its consent agenda and a series of routine motions and resolutions covering payroll changes, minutes, project fund requisitions, budget revisions and grant applications.
Key outcomes included approval of the consent agenda and payroll change notices; project fund requisitions and bond payments for Charles Pointe and White Oaks projects (amounts included $4,083.33 and $7,935.25); approval of budget revisions for general-county and vital-services budgets; and resolution signings to apply for state and private grant support.
The commission authorized filing an application for $25,000 in trail-signage funding and approved a resolution to accept funds for a spay-and-neuter program from the West Virginia Department of Agriculture. The panel also authorized applications to the Cultural Foundation for a parks-and-rec event and to Hope Gas Inc. for approximately $10,000 in summer programming support, and it approved filing a DICK'S Sporting Goods application for youth equipment.
A recommended bid award for a roof replacement at the sheriff’s office was discussed but tabled until a staff member could complete a full review of bids; the commission asked staff to place the item on the next agenda.
Most motions were approved by voice vote; where additional follow-up was required (for example, deed or procurement clarifications and a pending roof-award review), staff were directed to return with details at a future meeting.
