Commission renews generator maintenance contract and proclaims Nixa women’s wrestling day

County purchasing presented a contract renewal with Central Power Systems & Services to provide annual preventive maintenance on two county generators — $850 per year for the Circuit Court Building and $525 per year for the jail. Commissioners said they had received good service from the vendor, moved to approve the renewal, and the motion carried with vocal ayes.

Earlier in the meeting a commissioner read a proclamation recognizing the Nixa Eagles women’s wrestling team as the 2026 Class 2 Missouri State champions and proclaimed May 15, 2026, as Nixa women’s wrestling team day in Christian County. Team members and coaches were invited forward to receive certificates and photos; the presentation drew applause and appreciation from commissioners.

The generator contract renewal is intended to ensure reliable emergency power at two county facilities; the proclamation was ceremonial and required no formal vote beyond presentation.
