During the May 15 meeting the Blackstone–Millville regional school committee received a fiscal update from Superintendent Jason DeFalco and business-office staff.
DeFalco reported that the town of Millville passed the district’s FY24 budget and warrant last week. He said that if Blackstone approves a proposed $500,000 transfer into the district’s stabilization account at its upcoming town meeting, the district will be able to make the transfer and record related balances.
Denise from the business office reviewed the updated expenditure report included in committee packets and noted that one reimbursement — for technology — has not yet been recorded because federal/vendor processing and SAM.gov verifications are still underway. In the discussion she cited a figure of $250,000 for the technology reimbursement but described the processing as ongoing.
Committee members asked for clarification on timing and amounts; Denise said the district is in contact with the vendor and federal systems and will report back when the reimbursement posts. The committee will also await the Blackstone town meeting outcome before proceeding with the planned transfer.
