The Blackstone-Millville Regional School Committee took several formal actions during its Nov. 17 meeting.
- Public hearing on consolidation: Motion made by Dan and seconded by Kerry to post notice for a public hearing to consider proposed grade-configuration changes required by the regional agreement; vote unanimous. Date to be determined to allow required public notice and additional staff/parent meetings.
- Middle-school positions: Committee approved adding two positions for quarter three (a STEM teacher and a Spanish teacher) with estimated half-year cost if benefits were selected at roughly $70,000–$80,000 total; motion made by Dan, seconded by Aaron, and approved unanimously.
- Superintendent contract: The committee approved a five-year extension for Superintendent Jason DeFalco through June 30, 2027, including a 3% raise and a $2,500 merit payment; motion moved and seconded and approved unanimously; the signed contract was to be kept on file.
- Surplus declaration: The committee approved declaring a milk cooler at the complex surplus; motion approved unanimously. Members discussed condition and potential reuse or sale.
