Chair Jane Reggio informed the joint meeting that she received a resignation letter from School Committee member Mrs. Amanda McGill. Reggio said McGill’s resignation will be effective March 24. The committee discussed the appointment process: Millville representatives must participate in selecting an interim replacement until the next election.
Reggio noted that no candidate papers had been filed for one Millville seat, meaning the town will have two vacancies to address—one elected seat that can be filled by write‑in following the election and one appointed seat to fill the remainder of the term. Committee members expressed appreciation for McGill’s service; no formal action was taken at the meeting beyond accepting the resignation information and outlining next steps to coordinate between the towns.
The committee asked the Millville representatives and town officials to begin scheduling a meeting to manage nominations and the appointment process ahead of the March calendar deadlines.
