District staff outline school improvement plans, literacy and math supports across grades

Administrators and building instructional teams presented school improvement plans for elementary, middle and high schools, emphasizing literacy, math recovery and social‑emotional supports.

Elementary leaders described a simplified instructional focus for early childhood, START early literacy data, PBIS incentives and plans to share the district's instructional focus with families. Middle school staff reported declines in math proficiency, use of Amplify reading and STAR and project‑based learning additions, and a sensory room funded by ESSER to offer therapeutic space. High school leaders discussed the 'portrait of a graduate' framework, authentic assessments with New England Base Camp and career partnerships with WPI and local employers.

Teams said they will continue PLC data work, implement targeted interventions, and expand two‑way parent communication about assessment and progress. Several schools flagged math proficiency as an area needing curriculum review and additional interventions.
