The DeKalb County Board of Education approved a multi-item consent agenda during its May 7 regular meeting that included administrative approvals, contracts and several student travel authorizations.
Items approved on the consent agenda included minutes from the April 9 meeting; GP 141 budget amendments; a contract with Sidekick Therapy Partners; a partnership with LBJ&C Head Start; engagement of Tamara Beckman, CPA, to audit school internal funds on June 30, 2026; authorization for CTE surplus equipment to be sold by sealed bids; and permission for DCHS student groups to attend national Beta convention (June 16–20 at Opryland Hotel), a volleyball trip to Fort Walton Beach (Sept. 9–13), a mechatronics/industrial maintenance grant project, leadership conference attendance for FFA at Camp Clements, and cheer camp at Tennessee Tech (June 9–12). The board also approved bus utilization for 4‑H camp (June 1–5 in Crossville, Tennessee) and accepted a $500 Hometown Help grant for the 21st Century program.
Mr. Alan Hayes moved to approve the consent agenda; Mr. Jason Miller seconded and the motion carried by voice vote. Board members did not request the removal of any individual consent items for separate discussion during the meeting.
