Board approves athletic trainer contract, advances policies on first reading and OKs virtual high school textbooks

The DeKalb County Board of Education voted to approve an athletic trainer agreement with Star Physical Therapy and to move several board policies forward on first reading. The board also approved textbooks intended to expand electives and required courses for the virtual adult high school program.

Board members discussed the athletic trainer arrangement and noted the trainer (identified in discussion as Robert) provides services to high school sports and assists with weather monitoring and event coverage.
