Henry County Commission approves routine expenditures, records fees and adjourns

The Henry County Commission approved the minutes of the April 30, 2026 meeting and authorized expenditures for multiple departments, including employee benefits, buildings and grounds, law enforcement, elections, county government, court administration, prosecuting attorney, coroner, bridge and inmate security for April 2026.

Commissioners also reviewed and approved senior tax applications and recorded fees collected by the recorder of deeds for April. The sheriff’s appearance on the agenda was postponed after a late call; commissioners said the sheriff will be rescheduled for the next Thursday meeting. At 11:06 a.m., Commissioner Mark Larson moved to adjourn and Commissioner Jake Bradley seconded; the motion carried on a roll-call vote.

After the formal meeting closed, commissioners discussed administrative items including a miswritten check to be corrected by staff and a deadline for auditor paperwork.
