Town staff: curbside carts to begin early June; online eligibility checker to help deliveries

At the May 11 meeting residents and board members pressed staff for details about the pay-as-you-throw/cart rollout.

Staff reported that carts and bags have been ordered, that vendor listings will be announced, and that cart deliveries are expected to start the first week of June (around June 6 or June 8) with a roughly two-week delivery process. "We're looking at a deployment of the carts the I think the 6th of the 6th or the 8th of June they'll start delivering to the households," staff said.

The town also plans to publish a cart-eligibility checker on the website to let residents enter a parcel and verify the number of carts assigned; the tool will provide a one-click option to submit a work order when parcel records require correction.

Staff said they will place a banner on the town website and push information through Facebook and Instagram accounts; they expect to announce vendors and other details in early June and to include information in the recycling guide and a postcard mailer.

Next steps: Town staff will finalize vendor listings, launch the online eligibility checker, and post schedule and instructions on the town website and social accounts before physical deliveries begin.
