Youth Council to staff May 30 Hurricane Expo and continue Adopt‑a‑Road cleanups

Administrative contact Greg Allen told the Youth Council that the city’s Hurricane Expo will take place May 30, 2026 at the German‑American Social Club and asked members to volunteer for 9 a.m.–1 p.m. shifts. Volunteers will assist at booths, hand out preparedness supplies and receive youth-volunteer hours for participation.

Allen also confirmed the Adopt‑a‑Road program schedule: the council cleans a one‑mile stretch of Santa Barbara Boulevard North (Pine Island Road to Tropicana Parkway) and meets in the morning on the second Saturday every other month. Members discussed participation requirements (70% attendance threshold for some obligations) and agreed to keep the draft calendar as presented.
