Abby Thorne Lyman named interim planning director as department reorganizes

At the close of the meeting, Abby Thorne Lyman introduced herself as interim planning, building and transportation director while continuing as director of base reuse and economic development. She said retired planning director Andrew Thomas will return part‑time to support staff during the transition.

Lyman described an administrative integration between planning and economic development staff and signaled outreach to board members in the coming weeks to coordinate priorities. The board thanked Lyman and noted the next regular meeting will be Tuesday, May 26.
