O'Fallon introduces Hunter Davis as new volunteer services manager and previews summer activities for seniors

Hunter Davis introduced himself to the Senior Resident Advisory Committee as the new volunteer services manager, replacing Kathy Halstead, and said he plans to continue and expand volunteer resources and opportunities across city departments.

Davis described the office's role in connecting volunteers with events such as Mission Clean Stream, service days, Earth Day plantings and other departmental needs. He said his team supports boards and commissions and handles volunteer background checks.

On programming for seniors, staff reported several planned summer activities: three adult trips (the next scheduled May 21 to the Fox), two shows at the municipal venue, a month of July programming, a returning community stroll, and new line-dancing classes. Staff clarified that the Riverwalk event takes place at the Alligator Creek outdoor pool rather than along a creek path and said details will appear in the recreation guide and on the Parks & Rec web pages.

At the end of the meeting staff reported that vendor fees from the recent senior fair totaled $3,495 and that one vendor payment remained outstanding; staff continues outreach to collect it.
