School board appoints FSBA representative and alternate in 3-1 vote

The Indian River County School Board voted to appoint Dr. Jones as its representative and Ms. Rosario as the alternate to the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) Advocacy Committee for the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 term. The motion passed 3-1; the transcript does not record individual board members’ roll-call positions.

FSBA asked the district to name a committee representative and alternate to participate in statewide advocacy, monthly meetings and potential subcommittee work. The committee seat carries responsibilities to report advocacy efforts back to the local board and to represent the district’s interests to policy makers and stakeholders; FSBA will appoint legislative and federal subcommittee members by Sept. 1, the board was told.
