Todd Russell was elected president of the Galesville‑Ettrick‑Trempealeau School District board after a paper ballot count reported "six for Todd Russell and two for Adam," board members said.
The election came during the board's annual reorganization of officers for 2026–27. Nominations opened for president, vice president, clerk and treasurer; paper ballots were used for the president race. Adam Levit was the other nominee for president and received two votes.
The board also selected Adam Levit as vice president by unanimous consent, and held nominations for clerk and treasurer. Scotty Bird and Sarah were nominated for clerk; the record shows paper ballots were taken. A surprise nomination for treasurer (referred to by a board nickname) was noted by members during the vote.
The reorganization followed routine procedural items including reading the district mission statement and a roll call that established a quorum. After the elections, board members congratulated the new officers and moved on to routine district business.
Minutes and formal certification of the officer elections will appear in the board's official records; the board used paper ballots for contested nominations and voice votes for uncontested officer confirmations and routine motions.
