The City of Doral presented a Keep Doral Beautiful Business Award to Gateway Plaza at Doral and approved two proclamations: June 2026 as Children's Digital Wellness Month and a citywide patriotic flag display to mark the United States' 250th anniversary.
Danny Del Toro, code compliance director, recognized Gateway Plaza at Doral (2000 Northwest 87th Avenue) for maintenance and recent improvements; senior property manager Eduardo Garcia accepted the award on behalf of the owners and thanked the council. Del Toro said the property has been in Doral for 11 years and is roughly 322,000 square feet.
Councilwoman Nicole Reynoso presented a resolution designating June as Children's Digital Wellness Month to encourage programming aimed at youth ages roughly 10 to 17. The resolution directs the city manager to coordinate with the Miami‑Dade Public Library System and Parks & Recreation to develop related community programs.
Reynoso also sponsored a resolution supporting a citywide flag display for the nation's 250th anniversary. She moved an amendment to remove language directing the city manager to explore a city distribution program for flags and replaced it with wording promoting proper display of the flag throughout the city. Georgina Vargas, deputy chief of staff to Commissioner Millian Orbis, spoke in support. The council approved the amended resolution unanimously.
The mayor and council thanked staff for their work on upcoming Fourth of July events and asked staff to coordinate programming with the new library once it opens.
