DeKalb County’s information-systems director presented a proposed Informcast paging and mass-notification solution that integrates with the county’s new Webex cloud phone system to provide countywide paging and replace an unreliable phone-tree notification process. The system would allow group-targeted messages (for example to department heads) via text or an app notification and would support intercom-style paging across facilities.

The vendor quote on file was dated and the presenter said he expects an updated quote shortly; the older estimate listed a one-time implementation cost of a little over $10,000 and an ongoing annual license cost of about $4,344 for roughly 300 users. Commissioners asked for a refreshed quote, the price for multi-year lock-in options, examples of other jurisdictions using the product, and clarified that initial hardware and license costs would come from the county budget (not department budgets). No procurement motion was taken at the meeting; staff said they would return with revised pricing and references.
