Bobby Middleton addressed the Ambridge Area School District board during the old and new business public comment period to object to a proposed sale of 640 Howard Street, Ambridge, which he said he purchased in May 2025 and that had significant back taxes and title problems.
Middleton said he spent roughly $30,000 on repairs and attempted to pursue tax‑exoneration procedures but encountered conflicting filings, and he asked the board not to approve the proposed sale to a bidder named Richard Ferreira. "I bought 640 Howard Street in Ambridge, Pennsylvania on 05/06/2025... I had about $30,000 into the property already," Middleton said.
Board members replied that the solicitor should review the documents and that Middleton should provide the paperwork. The solicitor offered to take Middleton's contact information and review the material after the meeting; the board indicated legal review would determine available options. "I'll give you my card when the meeting's over, and you can feel free to reach out to me and provide me any of the documentation that you have, and then I'll take a look at it," the solicitor said.
In a separate comment, a resident asked for clarification about a memorandum of understanding with the Psychology and Learning Center that the board considered earlier. A district representative explained the Psychology and Learning Center is an outside mental‑health provider, parents must sign students up and services go through their insurance, and students age 14 and older may consent to counseling but parents would still be made aware.
What happens next: The solicitor said he would review any documentation Middleton provides and advise the board about possible options and next steps; no board vote on the specific property sale was recorded during the meeting.
