Weld County approves first reading of Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code, enforcement set for July

The Weld County Board of County Commissioners on March 2 approved on first reading Code Ordinance 2026-06, a local adoption of the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code required by state law.

A county presenter identified in the transcript as Bruce told the board the draft ordinance complies with the state statute and that the county had identified extensive exemptions that narrow the code’s application to roughly 15 properties.
