District staff shared aerial drone footage of recent work at Neil Wilkins, the middle school addition and the activities complex during Monday’s Platteville School District board meeting.
The Facilities presenter said the gym floor replacement is scheduled to begin in a couple of weeks and will take approximately six weeks to complete. The middle‑school addition is near the stage of ceiling‑tile installation, and crews will soon place flooring there as well.
At the activities complex, staff described a planned new canopy and entry at the auditorium side, a sign on the road reading 'Platteville High School auditorium' in the packet, and concrete work near bus lanes that will increase parking capacity so athletic events and auditorium events can run at the same time without spilling onto local streets. The presenter said these changes are intended to move event traffic off city streets and improve safety.
The presenter also reminded the board that graduation is scheduled for Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m. at the activities complex, weather permitting.
Board members did not take action on construction contracts at the meeting; the segment provided status updates and photos from drone footage. Staff said they will continue to report progress at future meetings.
