Morgan County approves combined weights-and-measures job description; recycling center soft opening targeted for spring

Morgan County Council on March 2 approved a revised job description that combines the county

weights-and-measures function with 12 to 15 hours of work at the county recycling center, a move commissioners said would provide coverage and avoid hiring an additional full-time employee.

as the new director of recycling for organizing operations and offered that Scotty will mentor the person filling the combined role.

Recycling center timeline and operations: Commissioners and staff discussed plans for a soft opening to re-establish services at the new site, with tentative windows of mid-April to early May suggested; leaders said they prefer a cautious rollout to avoid operational overload. The council also discussed resident verification at the site and proposed a form of ID to confirm county residency.
