The municipal infrastructure office asked the council to authorize payment of a claim for $37,680.37 to ChargePoint to cover warranty and maintenance invoices submitted for the city's electric-vehicle charging stations through Oct. 27, 2025.
Amanda (infrastructure) explained the invoices arrived after the warranty period ended and after work was completed, which made the payment a claims item rather than a standard pre-approved purchase. "This was an automated invoice that was sent to our office as an invoice and through purchasing we...worked with the vendor," she told the council, adding that the city has arranged procedures with the vendor to submit quotes in advance for future warranty work.
Council members pressed for operational clarity and budgeting details. Amanda said the payment will be charged to the 2025 budget and that staff will circulate a list of station locations and how many stations the city currently operates. She also said the city is negotiating a new operating contract with Jolt EV and plans to phase in new charging infrastructure in summer to fall and phase out older equipment after warranties expire.
No contested votes occurred; council members requested a written list of charging-station locations and confirmation of which fiscal year will carry the expense.
