Board approves return of full mutual aid to Adams and orders map updates within 60 days

The Decatur County board approved restoring full mutual aid responsibility to Adams for calls in the St. Paul/Adams area after discussion about whether the arrangement should be 'medical only' or full mutual aid. Members agreed the change should be comprehensive rather than split by call type.

The board moved to update response plans immediately and set a target of about 60 days for completion of mapping changes, with a suggested target date around the July meeting. The motion passed on a voice vote; staff were assigned to coordinate mapping work and the board asked that the changes be consolidated rather than processed as multiple separate edits.

Separately, Fire Chief Matt Stone presented requested jurisdictional boundary corrections on County Road 60 Southwest (several parcels near West County Road 750 South and West County Road 800 South) and a separate correction near 300 South. Chiefs on both sides had signed off on the changes, and the board approved updating the maps and response plans accordingly.

Board members warned that dispatchers should be prepared for temporary confusion as response plans and map displays change, and asked for patience while the technical updates propagate through CAD and response tools.
