Votes at a glance: Cochise County board approves liquor license, grants and community cleanup funds

• Community enhancement funds: The board approved two District 3 community cleanup grants to cover rolloff dumpsters — $4,000 for a cleanup in Bowie and $2,000 for a cleanup in Pearce — both motions carried 3–0.

• Emergency Management Performance Grant: The board approved subrecipient agreement EMF‑2025‑P5007 with the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs for a DEMA award of approximately $125,59.50 with a county match (total ~ $250,000). Director Dan Desawn told the board the grant funds two employees, vehicles, cell phones and office supplies; the motion passed 3–0.

• Consent agenda: Consent agenda items 1–5 were approved by voice vote (motion carried 3–0).

• Other procedural actions: The board removed a previously tabled final plat item from the table and the chair then removed that plat item from the agenda for later handling; no action on the substance of the plat occurred.
