Oradell board approves minutes, accepts HIB report and personnel items; honors retiring teacher and tenure nominees

At the start of the meeting the board approved minutes from March 18 and 25 by roll call after motions and seconding. The roll‑call record shows two abstentions and the remainder in favor.

Administrators also presented an HIB (Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying) report listed as administrative item A1; the board accepted the report by recorded vote.

During public comment the board recognized four educators recommended for tenure: Amy Broncado (praised as a vice principal and mentor), Jamie Kochia (22 years experience), Kaen Deielle and Danielle Oxnard. Trustees and colleagues offered specific examples of classroom practice, mentorship and community impact. The superintendent announced the retirement of Heidi O'Keeffe effective July 1, 2026 and noted her nearly 40 years of district service.

Personnel item F1 (new hires and staff reimbursements) was moved, seconded and approved by roll call; one trustee noted they would not vote on a specific reimbursement for themselves. Finally, the board moved to enter closed session; roll call recorded unanimous agreement and the meeting adjourned publicly with no further action taken that night.
