During the public-comment portion of the May 5 City of Dayton Parks Commission meeting, a resident who identified himself as "Ginsson T (Matt D.)" told the commission he lives on 11608 116 Avenue North in the Braven Trail neighborhood and asked when the new Dayton Farm Park basketball and pickleball courts would receive nets and court lines.
Parks staff member Marty responded that the courts are scheduled to be finished this year but the surfacing requires a sustained period of about 50°F temperatures for seven days to cure properly, and that the city has contracted work but is waiting for an appropriate weather window. On trees, Marty said trees are included in the park plan and will be planted later in the year after irrigation work is completed; staff invited the resident to email the exact southwest quadrant area so they can evaluate whether existing golf-course trees can be preserved.
The resident confirmed he would email staff with the location details. No formal action was taken; the item was handled as public comment and staff follow-up.
