Board reviews lowest bid of $149,876 for a Blue Bird school bus; delivery expected in June

At the March 12 workshop, staff told the Cannon County Board of Education that the district opened bids for a passenger school bus and the lowest responsive bid was from Central States for a Blue Bird bus at $149,876, with delivery available in June.

Board members asked whether that bus was the only option available for June delivery; staff confirmed other bids listed later delivery dates, including an October availability for at least one offer. A board member said the Central States option was the only one the district could afford at present.

No formal approval or vote to award the contract was recorded during the workshop; staff indicated they will move forward with the procurement process and provide budget details once the accounts are balanced and finalized.
