Bluffston Elementary School on Beaufort County’s broadcast dedicated its library in honor of retired librarian Victoria Moody, recognizing 26 years of service to students and reading. School district officials, administrators, teachers, family members and friends attended a ceremony where the school unveiled a commemorative plaque.
Moody, introduced at the dedication, spoke about the personal meaning of the honor. "My name at the door serves to remind all of the importance of books and encourage a love of reading," she said. She described the job as "always an exciting job" with changing technologies and initiatives, and called the dedication "a huge honor."
School officials and attendees joined Moody for the unveiling; the broadcast noted that a full video of the dedication is available on the station’s YouTube channel. The dedication recognizes Moody’s long service and is presented as a community effort to highlight the role of school libraries in promoting literacy.
The school did not provide further operational details about the library’s hours or funding during the segment; those specifics were not specified in the broadcast.
