At the April 13 meeting the Watertown School District 14‑4 board received the March financial report detailing revenues, expenditures and cash balances.
Staff reported the general fund ended the period with an approximate balance of $4.7 million and a month‑end cash balance of $1.8 million; capital outlay property tax collections totaled about $330,000 for the period. Special aid receipts and timing of federal reimbursements left that fund with a cash balance of $1.7 million, lower than the previous year for timing reasons. District nutrition program revenue for the month was reported at $202,000 with an ending cash balance of $187,000; staff said that balance was higher year‑over‑year due to timing of inventory purchases.
The financial presenter told the board a planned transfer from the general fund to support operations will not be required this fiscal year. The report also acknowledged a private donation of $404,056 given in memory of Sean Inglemeier; his wife, Christie Inglemeier, personally delivered the gift and asked that the funds be designated to school lunch programs. The board expressed the district’s appreciation for the donation.
Trustees had no questions about the financial report at the meeting and moved on to other agenda items.
