Commission endorses homeownership bus tour stop in Wayne County

The Wayne County Commission approved a resolution recognizing a national homeownership bus tour that stopped at Wayne County Community College and drew more than 100 participants.

Commissioner Peterson Mayberry, who moved the resolution, said the tour aims to increase homeownership and address disparities. "There's this very concerted effort to increase home ownership in communities, and that's what you see before you," Mayberry said, describing the tour's outreach to multiple cities and its local stop in Detroit.

Commissioner McCormack and Vice Chair Prom Bun supported the motion; members voted at their desks and the clerk recorded that the motion carried. The resolution recognizes the local stop and supports ongoing efforts to expand homeownership opportunities in the county.
