Parks board accepts donated parcel in Dresser from Riverscapes

The Vigo County Parks and Recreation Board voted to accept a parcel donated by Riverscapes adjacent to county‑owned property in Dresser. Staff said the gift requires only a nominal transfer and the board read the parcel number into the record: 84‑06‑21352006.0021021.

Staff described the donation as a favorable addition to contiguous county holdings in the Dresser area and moved that the board accept the parcel; the motion was seconded and the board approved acceptance. Staff noted the legal process requires the board to accept property transfers and that the county will record the parcel according to standard practice.

The board did not discuss purchase price because Riverscapes offered the parcel as a donation; staff will coordinate the transfer paperwork with the county attorney and record the parcel accordingly.
