Economic development staff updated the Greene County Commissioners on workforce and housing initiatives and invited commissioners to several upcoming meetings.
Staff highlighted partnerships to support workforce development with schools and regional partners (including ROI and the Ozarks Education Training Center), said the first meeting of the Greene County Coalition (GCC) Housing Committee is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. (immediately after the board meeting) and noted Greg Jones will attend to discuss the Greene County Land Bank. Staff said an updated county website and a quarterly newsletter will go live by April 1 and described plans to reestablish an industrial forum for local manufacturers. Staff also said they are compiling a master small‑business contact list to better engage and assist local firms.
Why it matters: county economic development and housing coordination affect local employers, workforce opportunities and efforts to address housing availability; the Land Bank and housing committee engagement may influence future project planning.
Next steps: staff will share the website link when published, host the GCC Housing Committee meeting, and continue outreach to small businesses.
