Board members and administrators used the March 18 meeting to highlight student achievement in athletics and technology.
Richmond High School and middle‑school girls’ wrestling were recognized for a rapid program build that produced sectional champions, a regional champion and an IHSWJB state champion in only the program’s second season. Captains and many team members introduced themselves to the board and coaches described an expanding feeder system and multiple assistant coaches contributing to athlete development.
The board also welcomed Jeremy Hill and the Richmond High School Tech Team. Hill described district adoption of blended learning and student leadership on AI and technology projects; he noted the district earned a national Canvas Docs award and said Richmond won a national AI Educator of the Year recognition. Students described conference presentations, a recent collaboration with an Australian vendor (Type by Hand), and plans to present at the ISTE conference in Orlando.
Trustees praised the students and staff for leadership, community representation and building programming that attracts interest from other districts. Parents and guardians in the audience were invited to stand and be recognized.
