A presenter said a local public sector career expo brought multiple public agencies together to showcase current job openings and provide free services to job seekers.
"It's a great one-stop shop for all the different agencies in the area," the presenter said, describing an event that organizers said offered mock interviews, resume review and guidance on how to find and apply for public-sector positions.
The presenter said the fair allowed attendees to ask questions about the application and interview process and to get exposure to agencies they might not otherwise encounter. "For our job seekers, we were able to offer mock interviews as well as resume review and tailor it specific to public sector employment," the presenter said.
Organizers emphasized the benefit for local school hiring. The presenter described the event as "instrumental to our school district as we are in the mix of hiring season," and said the free, in-person format helps districts and other agencies recruit.
The presenter contrasted in-person contact with online processes, saying, "We're caught up in a world where everything is done electronically. So, when you do get to see the smile and you do get to interact, I think it's a positive thing." The transcript does not specify the event's date or location.
Organizers encouraged job seekers to attend and take advantage of the free resources and face-to-face interactions the expo provided.
