The Germantown Public Safety Committee approved several routine summer event permits and applications at its meeting.
Members voted to allow Metro Cigars (N102 W19455 Willow Creek Way) a one‑time outside-premise extension for June 7, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Staff and chiefs said the operator has no notable compliance problems in past years.
The committee also approved a temporary Class B alcohol license for Kiwanis of Germantown’s "Taste of Germantown" on July 23, 2026, and a separate temporary Class B license for Post One’s Fourth of July celebration on July 4. Trustees noted Post One refers to the American Legion post and raised no objections.
Parks and Recreation Director Gilford Standridge submitted and the committee approved a fireworks-permit application for the village’s July 4 festivities. Trustees discussed logistics briefly and voted in favor.
All motions passed with no opposition.
The approvals allow event organizers to proceed with planning; any required occupancy, inspection or licensing steps (for example, zoning, fire safety inspection and occupancy permits for businesses) remain the responsibility of the event operators and the relevant departments.
