During routine business, the Richmond Board of Works approved Board of Works claims totaling $71,152.10 and voted to approve two fire-department contracts.
Assistant Chief James Clark, representing the Richmond Fire Department, described contract 32-2026 with Stryker Sales as a three-year, sole-source agreement covering parts, labor and travel for annual maintenance, inspection and repair of ambulance medical devices including Lucas compression devices and LifePak units. Clark asked the board to approve the contract; the board approved it by voice vote.
Clark also asked the board to approve contract 27-2025 with ProAir Midwest LLC for maintenance and air-quality sampling of the department’s two cascade air systems used to refill breathing bottles. The board approved that contract by voice vote as well.
There were no questions on the claims and both contract approvals were passed by unanimous voice vote. The board recessed briefly afterward to sign the contracts and then reconvened to continue the previously scheduled vicious-dog hearing.
