Residents praise volunteers and ask supervisors about Dogwood Road hearing

Public comment at the Patrick County Board of Supervisors meeting on April 13 focused on volunteer contributions to local programs and questions about upcoming road hearings.

Norma Bosinmyer of the Smith River District described numerous volunteer‑led activities — Kids Fishing Day, Bark in the Park, library programs, River Rangers and community gardens — and urged the board to focus on supporting people who work for the county’s civic good.

Galen Gilbert asked supervisors when the board would schedule another hearing on Dogwood Road in front of Cright school; he said residents had been told the road would need to be redone but had not heard an update. Gilbert also thanked the Clark Foundation for annual support to fire and rescue services.

The board acknowledged the comments and continued with the evening’s agenda. No formal action on the Dogwood Road question was recorded at the meeting; supervisors or staff indicated follow‑up would be provided outside the public comment period.
