Parks Board awards mowing contract and finalizes food‑truck schedule

The Town of Sellersburg Parks Board approved the Parks portion of a low mowing bid and reviewed plans to host monthly food‑truck nights this season.

Staff reported that J&C Lawn and Landscape submitted the lowest bid for the work and the board approved a motion to pay the Parks share; the motion passed unanimously, 4-0. Staff noted a highlighted pricing sheet specific to the Parks portion was provided to members.

On food trucks, staff said a Google Form sign‑up produced six responses so far and multiple trucks are scheduled across months: three signed for an April date, six for May and June each, and five for July–September. Staff will finalize a master schedule in May, send out vendor instructions and attempt to avoid duplicate vendor types (for example, more than one barbecue vendor the same night). The proposed recurring night is the last Wednesday of each month from April through September, with a planned kickoff on April 29; staff did not request a formal motion for the schedule but will circulate the finalized calendar.

The board also approved routine business earlier in the meeting, including adoption of the agenda, allowance claims, and minutes, all by unanimous votes. With no public commenters present, the meeting moved on to other agenda items.
