The Rocklin Unified School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved an update to the district’s Facilities Master Plan (FMP) on May 15, formalizing priorities for capital improvements and next steps in project delivery.
Deputy Superintendent Jennifer Solber and Craig Rouse, senior director of facilities maintenance and operations, presented the FMP update and a timeline that traces work back to a plan adopted in 2018. Rouse said the update reflects site assessments, stakeholder input and work since 2018, and described roughly $88 million in completed projects and $58 million of currently identified funding and projects.
The FMP update identifies priorities including portable replacement, HVAC upgrades, energy management, LED lighting, and a districtwide solar assessment planned for this summer. Rouse said the plan is intended as a living document that guides long‑range capital needs and programming: "This document is an update to the 2018 facilities master plan," he said, noting the district updates the plan periodically as needs and funding shift.
Trustees approved a motion to adopt the FMP update. The roll call vote recorded Julie Hub, Michelle Price, Derek Counter, Michelle Southerland and Tiffany Satof voting to approve the plan.
Next steps outlined by staff include architect solicitation, scope and programming work, staffing and scheduling for forthcoming projects, and bringing individual project bids and scopes back to the board for approval as they are developed.
