Board awards integrated security contract to Everon LLC; project comes in under $103,450 grant

The Rockcastle County Board of Education authorized a contract award to Everon LLC for an integrated security and access control system after a competitive RFP process.

Staff said the district issued an RFP last month, conducted a mandatory walkthrough with four interested parties, received three bids and recommended Everon LLC based on bid completeness and price. The recommended bid was the low bid and fell substantially below the $103,450 grant amount the district received for this project, staff reported. Staff said they will contact the state Homeland office to determine whether unused grant funds can be repurposed or must be returned.

A staff presenter described the procurement as competitive and noted the district will proceed with the recommended vendor. The board moved and approved the recommendation; the transcript records the motion, second and voice vote.

Next steps: staff will finalize the contract and pursue grant‑administration follow up with the state to confirm allowable uses for any remaining grant funds.
