O'Fallon Veterans Commission lacks quorum, tables agenda; no votes taken

The presiding officer of the O'Fallon Veterans Commission said at the April 20 meeting, "We do not have enough members tonight for a quorum. We will not be voting on anything," and the commission tabled its agenda, postponing any formal votes.

Kannan conducted the roll call after being asked to do so, and multiple members were recorded as excused; Council member Jeff Kuehn was present and Council member Lisa Thompson was excused. The chair confirmed there would be no votes and the commission instead heard reports and public comments, including a detailed update from Belinda of the Veterans Service Committee at the Elks Lodge.

Commission members used the meeting to exchange announcements about upcoming ceremonies and community events — Armed Forces Day programming, Memorial Day arrangements and museum-hosted events — but the lack of quorum meant no business requiring a vote moved forward.

After a benediction the chair adjourned the meeting. Any items on the agenda requiring commission action will be rescheduled for a future meeting when a quorum is present.
