The town’s communications director presented a year‑to‑date report on tourism and outreach, including a rebranding of the tourism channel to "Visit Cave Creek," a new website (VisitCaveCreek.com), and rising social‑media engagement.
Bo said the Visit Cave Creek social channels grew rapidly after an August rebrand and that recent metrics showed Facebook followers rising toward 4,400 and a large increase in impressions and video views. “We changed the name to Visit Cave Creek,” Bo said, describing the rebrand and the separate URL for tourism marketing.
The presentation covered eight main program initiatives, from crisis communications and social media to employee communications. Bo said the town used a marketing vendor for tourism advertising, targeted the Phoenix market, and is coordinating promotions for the town’s 40th‑anniversary events, Taste of Cave Creek, Buffalo Chip and other festivals.
Bo reviewed advertising placements, partnership ads with neighboring communities (Carefree), sponsorships in publications such as True West and Experience AZ, and a plan to keep more tourism content distinct from resident‑facing town communications.
Councilmembers praised the progress and commended Bo for producing video and digital materials in‑house, noting cost savings compared with past outsourced work. The council encouraged continued coordination of anniversary events and cross‑jurisdictional advertising to attract visitors.
Bo said staff will continue to measure reach and engagement and evaluate advertising channels to maximize return on the town’s tourism marketing dollars.
